2009 March Madness Champion - tincanclub!

Congratulations to tincanclub, who won the 2009 March Madness championship. It's really old news by now, but it has been a busy Spring so far here at the Picks Club. This is his first March Madness championship, and he becomes the 10th champion in the 11th season of the March Madness picks. BlueCoug is the only player to win more than one time (2005 and 2000). Congratulations to tincanclub!

byubob Wins Picks Club Championship

Congratulations to byubob, who won his first Picks Club 1A championship! His total of 65 points earned in the playoffs was two points more than Bama, who finished in 2nd place. In the last 20 bowl games, byubob won only one more game than Bama, but it was in the 3rd round when each game was worth 3 points. Up to then, Bama held a one-point lead over byubob. After the third round, byubob took a 2-point lead over Bama and never looked back. Congratulations on a great playoff run!

mystic ken Wins 1AA Championship

Two players tied for 1st place in the 1AA playoffs: mystic ken and UVaCavs6. Both of them picked Florida over Oklahoma in the BCS Championship game, but mystic ken's score prediction was 34-27, while UVaCavs6 predicted a score of 41-37. The final score was 24-14, which means mystic ken was 17 points closer to the actual score, and he wins the championship. Mystic ken joins only a handful of players who won a championship in their rookie seasons. UVaCavs6 is a long-time veteran of the Picks Club who was inducted to the Hall of Fame last July.
